Gregory H. Haselhorst of Trenton died Sunday, Dec. 8th, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. He was 79 years old.
A son of Bernard and Margaret Lampe Haselhorst, he was born in St. Rose on Jan. 14, 1912. On May 4, 1938, he married Louise Zurliene in Aviston, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Don Haselhorst of Springfield, Mo., and John Haselhorst of Clinton, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. Pat Welz of Trenton, Sister Marilyn Haselhorst PHJC of Coatzacolacos, Mexico, Mrs. Judy Gall of Trenton and Mrs. Diane Bloss of Chatham; 11 grandchildren; five brothers, Al Haselhorst of Aviston, Karl, Martin and Herman Haselhorst, all of Trenton and Rev. Vincent Haselhorst of Columbia and four sisters, Mrs. Marie Furliene of Highland, Mrs. Augusta Litteken of Trenton, Mrs. Catherine Heap of Belleville and Ms. Mathilda Haselhorst of Trenton.
Mr. Haselhorst was a mechanic at Monsanto. He was a member of the Men’s Sodality of the church, Trenton Knights of Columbus of which he was a past Grand Knight.
He also was a member of the Mater Dei Fathers and Friends Club, chairman of the American Cancer Society, member of the Lodge Ondessonk and member of the Catholic Knights and Ladies of Illinois.
He also was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Trenton where his funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Rev. Robert Flannery and Rev. Vincent Haselhorst officiated with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
