Susie Johnson, 87
Susie Myrl Johnson, of Carlyle, died in Houston, Tex., on Thursday, June 15th, 2000. She was 87 years old.
Born in Patoka on Feb. 8th, 1913, she was a daughter of William and Susie Orrell Snyder. On Dec. 12th, 1931, in Waterloo, she married Leland Johnson. He died May 1st, 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sue Osborne-Patterson of Houston; one son, William Johnson of Bartelso; one grandson and two great-grandsons and two sisters, Rose Mahlandt of Carlyle and Eunice Meredith of Lebanon.
A life-long area resident, Mrs. Johnson and her husband supplied Guernsey milk for Pet Dairy for 25 years. At age 57 she took college courses and then went to work at Murray Center in Centralia.
She was a member and past matron of Carlyle Chapter #518 Order of the Eastern Star and was affiliated with Chapter of the Eastern Star in Sandoval.
She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle where services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19th. Rev. Steve Goodin officiated with burial in Carlyle cemetery.
