William Richter Dies Thursday After Short Illness
William Richter, 73 years of age, who resided here his entire life, died at his home at 8:30 p.m. after being ill only a short time.
The deceased was born August 7, 1881, in Breese, a son of the late Henry Richter and Margaret Pollmann. He received his education in St. Dominic School and had followed the occupation of farming his entire life.
He was married to Miss Cecelia Alberternst October 25, 1905, in St. Dominic church here. Eight children were born to this union.
He leaves to morn besides his wife, five children Mrs. John Peters of New Baden, Anton Richter of this city, Mrs. Floyd Eversgerd of Aviston and Leona and Robert of home, two brothers, Henry and John of Breese, and nine grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Augustine Men's Sodality and the Catholic Knights and Ladies of Illinois.
The body lay in state at the Bruegge-Heyer Funeral Home here, and funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Augustine's Church. Interment was in St. Dominic Cemetery.
