A funeral Mass for Benedict Richter was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine's Church in Breese. Fr. Robert Flannery officiated and burial was in St. Dominic's Cemetery.
Mr. Richter, 65 year old farmer, died Saturday night at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.
He was a lifelong resident of Breese where he was born October 20, 1910, a son of Henry G. and Caroline (Elling) Richter. He was married to Anna Niebur September 4, 1934, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Marie Duing of Trenton and Mrs. Dorothy Diekemper of Carlyle; three sons, Robert Richter of Livonia, Mich., Jack Richter of Breese and David Richter of Philo; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kruep and Mrs. Margaret Altepeter of Breese and Mrs. Helen Huelsmann of St. Louis; and three brothers, Henry Richter of Aviston, Theodore and George Richter of Breese. There are 17 grandchildren.
Mr. Richter was a charter member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau.
Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
