Services were held at Breese Monday, May 1st, for 66-year-old Paul J. "Shorty" Richter of Trenton, a lineman with Illinois Power Co. who died Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
A former resident of Breese, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 309 and of the Trenton Sportsmen's Club.
He was a native of Breese, born March 12, 1912, to William and Anna Woltering Richter. He married Marcella Markus at Aviston Nov. 4, 1936.
Mrs. Richter survives, along with two sons, Maurice of Trenton and Phillip of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Tessie Trame of Trenton; eight grandchildren, and two sister, Mrs. Cecilia Schmidt of Breese and Mrs. Frances Zurliene of Princeton.
Father Clem Dirler conducted the 2:00 p.m. funeral Monday in St. Dominic's Catholic Church of Breese and burial was in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by Moss Funeral Home of Breese.
