Marie J. Kleber, 65, of Carlyle, died Tuesday, June 6th, 2006, at her residence in Carlyle.
Born Jan. 1st, 1941, in Highland, she was the daughter of Vern and Mary Glover Harnetiaux and they preceded her in death. She married Anthony "Corky" Kleber on Dec. 31st, 1974, in Mt. Vernon and he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Carl Schlarmann of Highland; two daughters, Denise Sugg and Karen Hummel, both of Carlyle; a step-daughter, Patsy Ronan of Carlyle; a step-son, Gary Kleber of Carlyle; six grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Pyle of Vandalia and Gail Harnetiaux of Greenville; and two brothers, Vern Harnetiaux Jr. of Greenville and Larry Harnetiaux of Greenville.
Along with-her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Will Bernard Schlarmenn; and three brothers, David, Danial and Sammy Clyde Harnetiaux.
She was a tax preparer and operated Marie's Tax Service in Carlyle. She then worked at the Carlyle City Hall for nine years and retired due to medical reasons.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Nashville and Highland and was the current Worthy Matron in Nashville and also served as Grand Lecturer Emeritus. She was also a member of Sunlight Rebekah Lodge 769 in Keyesport and the Daughters of the Nile, Ainad Temple. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carlyle.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9th, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. John Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Carlyle Cemetery.
Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle on Thursday, June 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m, and Friday, June 9th, from 8 a.m. until service time.
