Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Edwards of Carlyle will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24th, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle. Rev. Jim Hilker will officiate with burial in Carlyle cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, 2000. She was 94 years old.
A daughter of William and Julia Curdt Heinrich, she was born in Meridian township on May 8th, 1906. On Feb. 5th, 1931, in Carlyle, she married Leonard Edwards. He died Sept. 18th, 1984.
Two sisters, Frieda Davidson of Boulder and Wilma Arnold of DeKalb and nieces and nephews, survive.
A sister, Leona Cole and two brothers, Robert and Ervin Heinrich, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Edwards had worked at Imming's Restaurant in Carlyle for 12 years. The Edwards had been caretakers for the Clinton County Fairgrounds for many years.
She was a member and former custodian at Immanuel United and a member of the Women's Guild of the church. She also was a member of Clinton County Farm Bureau and Illinois Sheriff's Association.
Visitation is at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) and from 8 until 19:30 a.m. Thursday.
