Arnold H. Winter, 73
Funeral services for Arnold H. Winter of Breese were held Monday, May 10th, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Mr. Winter died Friday, May 7th, 1999, at his residence in Breese, at the age of 73.
He was born Aug. 25th, 1925, in Breese, to Joseph and Petronella Winkeler Winter. On May 18th, 1949, at St. Augustine Church in Breese, he married Bernice Kohrs, and she survives in Breese.
Also surviving are three sons, Hal Winter of Pocahontas, Glenn Winter of Breese, and Karl Winter of Centralia; two daughters, Barb Wilton of Carlyle and Brenda Woodrome of Centralia; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Al Winter of Breese, Walter Winter of Crona Del Mar, Calif., Joe Winter of Breese, and Maury Winter of Portage, Mich.; and two sisters, Jo Schroeder of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Marian Winter of Shawnee Missions, Kan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Adolph, August, and Victor Winter, and a sister, Martha Strathman.
Mr. Winter was employed by Breese SuperValu for 35 years and retired as store manager. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Men's Sodality and Breese American Legion Post 252 and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. Interment was in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
