Walter Arentsen, 68
New Baden resident Walter O. Arentsen died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, Aug 10th, 2001. He was 68 years old. A son of George and Mary A Korte Arentsen, he was born on April 8th, 1933. On Sept. 19th, 1955, in Breese, he married Jeri Haar, and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Russell Arentsen of O'Fallon; one daughter, Terry Weisen of Fox River Grove; four grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence "Steve" Arentsen and Francis "Frank" Arentsen, both of St. Louis an Norbert Arentsen of O'Fallon and two sisters, Antoinette Jensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mary Ann Winter of Mascoutah.
Mr. Arentsen was a retired plasterer and member of Employers an Cement Masons Local 90.
He also was a member of St. George Church in New Baden where Msgr. James Blazine officiated at services at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13th. Burial was in Resurrection cemetery in New Baden. Visiation [sic] was at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden.
