Mrs. Otto KUES Rites Monday at St. Mary's
Mrs. Clara Kues, 64, died at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Aviston on November 9 1893, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary DANIEL. She married Otto Kues at Aviston on 6 Apr 1916. He died 31 Jan 1956. Survivors include five sons and six daughters. Joseph of Portsmouth, VA, Urban of Babylon, NY, Daniel of Breese, Cyril (Johnny) of Trenton, Edmund stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Johanna, wife of Al RENSCHEN - Breese; Sylvia, wife of Robert RATERMANN - Aviston; Mary Jane, wife of Otto KORTE - Trenton; Dolores, wife of Anthony LAMPE - Trenton; Elizabeth, wife of Ralph SPIHLMANN - Trenton and Miss Martha Kues - Donaldson, Indiana..
Also surviving are a brother, Frank Daniel - Davenport, IA and 24 grandchildren. A brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kues was a member of the Catholic Knights and Ladies of IL, the Alter Society of St. Mary's Church and the Auxiliary of the Stahl Post 778 of the American Legion.
Her nephew, Rev. Edmund SCHUMACHER of Piopolis [St. John's Church], officiated at the Solemn Requiem Mass at 9 o'clock Monday morning. Assisting him were Rev. G. H. NETEMEYER and Rev. John A. BAGGIO. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
